Learn some simple steps in Photoshop that will allow you to make great photo etching plates. Learn how to expose, etch and print etching plates in this short, focussed class.

Entry requirements

Please bring: pencils, a small paintbrush and a sketchbook or notebook. You should also bring an image saved on a USB stick that you would like to work with. This should ideally have a wide range of tones with some clear whites, through to dark tones, with a range of tones inbetween. Protective clothing is provided, or you can bring your own apron and rubber gloves. The course fee includes most studio consumables (ink, cleaning materials, solvents etc) but you will have to pay for paper and etching plates. These are available to buy in the department at cost price. Further requirements will be discussed at the first and subsequent classes.
