The Intermediate Apprenticeship in Improving Operational Performance is a Level 2 Apprenticeship that is primarily for those who are seeking to start a career in the engineering or manufacturing sectors. The Apprenticeship equips apprentices with the essential skills and knowledge to carry out a range of engineering and manufacturing processes at semi-skilled and operator level, whilst providing a firm foundation from which to progress and develop a career. Two pathway options are offered: - Performing Engineering Operations (PEO) (EGEC2) - Performing Manufacturing Operations (PMO) (EPM21) The PEO pathway provides an all-round grounding in fundamental engineering operations and techniques. The pathway includes core units relating to; working safely in an engineering environment, carrying out engineering activities efficiently and effectively and using and communicating technical information. In addition, a wide range of unit options are available to select from. The PMO pathway focuses on developing the fundamental skills and knowledge required to operate effectively in a manufacturing environment. This pathway includes core units relating to; complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements, promoting effective working relationships and effective team working. In addition, a wide range of unit options are available to select from.The PEO pathway is delivered through a combination of on- and off-the-job training. You will attend college one day per week during term time and spend the rest of your time earning and learning in the workplace. You will be assessed on a continuous basis through a combination of knowledge and practical assessment activities, including assessment of activities in the workplace.
