The Golden Age Of European Art

This course is aimed at anyone who would like to know more about European painting between 1850-1910. It will be a basic introduction to the main art movements during this period including the Pre-Raphaelites, Impressionism and Symbolism. Selected artists and their work will be studied each week so that you can gain an insight into how the periods linked together, and why these particular artists and their works were so important during this era. You will learn through a series of Powerpoint presentations, worksheets and class discussion.
