This qualification aims to provide an opportunity for learners with a career interest in one of the uniformed services. What will I Learn? Units to be studied are: Mandatory Investigate Employment in the Uniformed Services Explore Aspects of Physical Fitness Team Work and Problem Solving Health, Safety and Hygiene Map Reading and Navigation Uniformed Services Routine Optional (2 to be studied) Outdoor Activities Competitive Team Sports Aspects of Telecommunications Assist in Motor Vehicle Maintenance Opportunities exist for learners to undertake other qualifications. NCFE Exercise and Fitness Level 1 One functional skill in either English, Maths or IT - the level and subject will be determined on enrolment. Length of Study This is a full-time course, 21 hrs per week for 1 academic year. What are the Entry Requirements? To be eligible for this course applicants must have at least 4 GCSEs at D, including Maths and English and a letter of recommendation from school or a previous employer covering attendance and behaviour. Applicants must be able to run 1.5 miles in 16 minutes. Successful completion of the Foundation Learning Diploma in Uniformed Services.
