This course builds upon the AS modules completed in Year 12. You will complete a practical coursework unit in which you will have the opportunity to explore and extend the knowledge and skills developed on the AS course. In this unit you will be expected to produce a final piece supported by development work and it also contains a written element consisting of personal, in-depth research into the work of an artist. The Controlled Test paper will be set by the Awarding Body and you will be expected to respond to one question which will be your starting point. You will complete investigative work during a preparatory period and then have fifteen hours of supervised time in which to produce a finished piece or pieces.
