Level 3 City & Guilds Extended Diploma Animal Management

UPDATED 20151209 16:14:13

The College offers the opportunity to study at level 3 (A level equivalent) for students who wish to develop a comprehensive understanding of animal management and biology - encompassing practical techniques, academic knowledge and technical skills. It is a popular option for both school leavers and successful Level 2 Diploma students. The course incorporates a mix of practicals, classroom lectures, industry visits and case study exercises. Students enjoy the wide variety of theory and practical subjects combined with a range of projects and assessments. Students will also receive training and assessment in a range of additional qualifications, which will enhance their employability. A work experience placement takes place on one day per week and visits to animal related enterprises form an integral part of the course. The course prepares students for supervisory and junior management positions in the animal industry or for progression to a range of Higher Education degree and foundation degree courses. Applicants for all courses in Animal Studies are expected to show a strong commitment to the industry and a strong personal statement. Relevant work experience in the Animal Care industry (a minimum of two weeks in duration) will have been completed with a satisfactory reference in support of that work.
