We will begin by exploring different styles of watercolour painting by looking at specific artists and different kinds of source material, practising various different techniques. You will then choose your own source material to use to create a series of studies or a finished painting.

You will need to bring your own paint, brushes and palette. There will be economy watercolour paper to purchase from the tutor 18p and there will be materials to borrow at the first session in case you wish to discuss what to buy with the tutor before you purchase anything extra. Will I need to do anything in my own time? It is helpful, but not necessary, to work between sessions at home eg the tutor may suggest you research a particular artist; if you dont have time between sessions or have no internet access, time can be made in class to do this.
