Laboratory and Science Technicians - Apprenticeship (Intermediate) - Level 2

This apprenticeship is aimed at people who wish to gain experience and qualifications as a technician through practical and theoretical skills and work based activities. It extends the range and depth of skills and laboratory practices producing a laboratory technician capable of working within a team or with minimal supervision. The framework is designed for laboratory and science technicians who carry out both routine and one-off laboratory testing and perform a variety of technical support functions to help scientists, technologists and others with their work or who help teachers/lecturers in the delivery of science education. Apprentices will complete the level 2 NVQ certificate and a technical component which may be achieved by following one of the following pathways - Laboratory and associated technical activities educational science - Laboratory and associated technical activities industrial science
