Please NotePlease Note that, though the parking is good, there is no storage at the centre so your piece must be transported each week. This course is held on the site of Homewood School, Tenterden (postcode TN30 6LT). By the end of the course you should be able to:- - Demonstrate an awareness of Health and Safety relevant to Upholstery and the Workshop, - Prepare and use the appropriate tools and materials, - Display and present skills you have learnt relating to the tools and techniques of Upholstery, - Demonstrate an a working knowledge of Upholstery terminology, tools and materials. The beginner and those with some experience.

Entry requirements

Please bring your chair, screen, stool etc to the first meeting. You might like to bring an old blanket to cover your work table. Do not buy any specific tools until you have consulted with your tutor, but bring a wooden mallet, a small headed hammer (or magnetic tack hammer) a tack lifter or old chisel, scissors and a Stanley knife. Further equipment can be purchased as the course progresses. Please remember that upholstery tools can be HAZARDOUS and keep all sharp tools points and blades covered and contained in a suitable toolbox or bag. You will need a dust mask. goggles and latex and cotton gloves. Suitable shoes should be worn, no opened toed shoes or sandals.
