Jewellery Making

Learn how to design and make individual, professionally finished jewellery. Beginners will follow suitable projects to cover the basic skills. Group and individual tuition will be given in techniques such as piercing, filing, shaping and forming, soldering, texturing and polishing. Experienced students will follow their own projects in consultation with the tutor. By the end of this course you should be able to: Select and use the correct tools and equipment for specific processes. Use a range of jewellery making skills, e.g. piercing, filing, shaping, forming, soldering and polishing. Design and make a piece of jewellery, applying the skills you have learnt, Work to relevant Health and Safety guidelines. There is no homework requirement for this course. Beginners and those with a some experience. It is important to note that craft courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity.
