Life Drawing and Painting - Summer School

This week long intensive Life Drawing course is an exploration into balancing ideas of line, tone, form, colour, shape, etc within a picture. The course will be based on observing the life models in the environment. Individual expression is highly valued with support given to all students at all levels. Both male and female models will be used as subject matter during this short intensive course. By the end of the course you will be able to: Draw and paint from direct observation using artists measuring techniques, Complete a series of sketches and paintings from group exercises on the structure of the model, Complete a series of sketches in preparation for a final painting, Be aware of and work to relevant Health and Safety guidelines, Anyone who has completed other Life courses or Art courses and those would like an intensive week of drawing from a Life model. It is important to note that art courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity. If you need to bring a carer with you, or be accompanied by another person, please ask to speak with the Programme Manager before you enrol.

You will need to provide your own materials and these will vary in cost according to the course requirements. Please bring any materials and equipment you have that might be appropriate to the course.
