AS/A Level Anthropology

UPDATED 20151112 12:34:07

Anthropology is the study of humanity. The A Level course covers a broad range of topics ranging from questions of the origins of humanity to the changes being brought about by globalisation today. We study a variety of societies from isolated tribal groups to western urban neighbourhoods, encouraging students to question their assumptions about human nature and how they perceive other cultures. Students will explore the ethical considerations when studying cultures with different values and practices, as well as the methodology used by the Anthropologists studying them. The final unit of the A2 requires students to carry out research of their own.
