Unit 1 is an extended unit of coursework structured to introduce you to new techniques, different media and a range of practices such as drawing, printmaking, 3D sculpture, installation, photography, ceramics and mixed-media. You will be supported to explore your own ideas based on the theme “JOURNEYS, TRANSFORMATION AND STRUCTURES”. Coursework practical project 50% of total AS marks. Unit 2 The externally set assignment is taken at the end of the year. You will develop further your skills and understanding of other artists’ work to create a project of work in response to your chosen exam question. This will be issued to students in the January term.Externally set assignment: work is produced in supervised conditions spread over 5 hours. 50% of total AS marks.
