AS You will study 3 modules this year split between 2 teachers. These are entitled “Foundations in Biology”, “Exchange and Transport” and “Biodiversity and evolution”. You will have two examinations in the June series examinations that will cover all of the content studied at AS. Paper 1 is entitled “Breadth of Biology” and Paper 2 is entitled “Depth of Biology”. Each paper is 1hour 30 minutes in length. In addition to the examination you will be assessed for your practical ability throughout 12 set practical activities. A2 In addition to the AS content you shall also be taught 2 more modules; “Communication, Homeostasis and Energy” and “Genetics, Evolution and Ecosystems”. A2 assessment is separate to that of AS and consists of 3 papers. Paper 1 and 2 are 2 hours 15 minutes in length, entitled “Biological Processes” and Biological Diversity”, paper 3 is called “Unified Biology” and is 1 hour 30 minutes in length. “Foundations in Biology” is assessed throughout the course.
