This qualification meets the needs of learners who work or want to work in Health or Social Care settings, or with children or young people in a wide range of settings, for example in the roles of careworker, childminder, early years practioner, nursery nurse, education welfare officer, connections worker, learning mentor, careers adviser, youth and community workers, foster carers, speech and language therapist. The Level 3 Diploma aims to guide and assess development of knowledge and skills relating to early years and to childcare (social care) and the learning and development and support services workforce. This qualification confirms confidence in these areas where appropriate and services as the required qualification (for all new practioners) for registration and regulatory requirements in the sector. To achieve this qualification, the learners must achieve a minimum of 65 credits in total. A learner must complete 27 credits form the mandatory units, plus credits from 1 entire pathway (early learning in childcare, social care or learning, development and support services). The remaining credits must be achieved from Group E.
