To gain industry recognised standards in beauty therapy this course will cover taking responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health and safety, manicure and pedicure services, nail art services, apply and maintain gel nail extensions (enhancements) to create a natural finish and promotion of additional services or products to clients. Fulfilling salon reception duties is part of the course to ensure that employability skills are learned as well as developing effectiveness at work through team building and working to targets. Assessments are done in the salon environment on paying clients. Progression from this course is onto Level 3 Nails Services or Level 3 Beauty Therapy if Level 2 Beauty Therapy has been completed. . This is classed as a full time course as you will attend at least one days a week plus extra days if you are may be required to take a maths and English GCSE resit or Functional Skills qualification at level 1 or 2. Plus all learners will do a work experience placement in a salon or spa at least 1 day per week ideally. Those on an Apprenticeship will attend at least 1 day per week as part of full time employment.
