The primary objective of the Business Improvement Techniques qualification is to improve business performance as a whole by minimising waste and maximising profits. Level 3 requires the candidate to take leadership of business improvement activities. The course is broken down into nine units and all candidates must cover the following units: Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements Contributing to effective team working Leading effective teams Applying workplace organisation techniques Applying continuous improvement techniques (Kaizen) Creating visual management systems Plus one of the following: Creating flexible production and manpower systems Carrying out problem solving activities The two remaining optional units will be chosen to suit your business needs and can include: Applying flow process analysis Creating standard operating procedures Applying set-up reduction techniques Carrying out mistake/error proofing (Poka Yoke)
