EAL Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Technology (QCF)

The Level 2 Diploma in Engineering and Technology has been designed for young people who would like to train for a position within an engineering environment. This course will consist of practical assessments within a workshop environment backed up by theory classroom based sessions. The qualification comprises of both mandatory and optional units and will be assessed by observation, practical work and written questions. There are 3 mandatory units and 3 optional units as per below Mandatory units: * Engineering Environment Awareness * Engineering Techniques * Engineering Principles Optional units from: * Welding Techniques * Maintenance Techniques * Understanding Computer Aided Drawing (CAD) * Turning Techniques * Fitting & Assembly Techniques

Entry requirements

Learners with grade D in Maths & English will be required to undertake GCSE resits and Learners who have progressed from Level 1 in Performing Engineering Operations will be required to undertake functional skills.
