This Apprenticeship is ideal for you if you want to gain professional level skills in carpentry and the essential knowledge for progression in the construction industry. This programme will enable you to construct and fit various onsite structures such as bespoke wall and floor units/fitments, complex roof structures, stairs as well as hanging and fixing bespoke doors, bespoke windows and ironmongery. The topics covered include: -Installing bespoke first fixing components-Developing and maintaining good relationships-Setting up and using transportable cutting and shaping machines The learning experience is a mix of classroom based theory lessons and practical workshops designed to help you develop the skills required in the industry. The College is equipped with industry standard facilities. In 2014, Ofsted described the Colleges workshops as spacious and well-organised environments, where students can work productively, using safe working practices. Good English and maths skills are essential for success in studying and for future employment prospects and so Croydon College ensures that these skills are developed in all learning opportunities. Its also important to have good English and maths qualifications and so all students will study English and maths and work towards an appropriate level and type of qualification including GCSE.
