You will build on your language skills from GCSE in areas of speaking, listening, reading and writing. You will learn to express yourself at an advanced level and discuss topical issues. Ever wanted to find out more about German culture? You’ll be able to find out with your improved vocabulary, grammar and style. You will study four different topics: ◾Youth Culture and Concerns (music, fashion, relationships, technology, drink and drugs) ◾Lifestyle: health and fitness (sport, diet, health issues) ◾The World Around Us (travel and tourism) ◾Education and Employment In the second year of the course, you will develop your language skills even further. Your skills with a second language will really help you in an increasingly globalised society You will study and research three new cultural topics: ◾Customs, traditions, beliefs and religions ◾National and International Events (past, present and future) ◾Literature and the Arts
