Will the course give me what I want? Course content The BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care is a work-related qualification. You will gain a broad based knowledge about different care settings and the needs of a range of service users. You will develop the knowledge, skills and qualities needed to work in the caring sector. Working in the caring sector provides many opportunities for you to make a difference to people's lives in a positive way. As a work placement of 60 hours will be completed, a CRB check will need to be completed at the beginning of the course. Outline of skills and knowledge Units studied include: communication individual rights & needs safe environments vocational experience in health & social care anatomy & physiology human development diet. In addition the course contains: Tutorial support English and maths Careers advice and guidance Employability The course is equivalent to 4 GCSEs grade A-C. What have students who have taken this course in the past progressed to? The course prepares students for progression on to the L3 Subsidiary Diploma in Health & Social Care or employment in to a range of caring or health related professions. How will I learn? Lessons take place over three days and different units are delivered by specialist teachers.
