Pathway 1: Video and Sound Pathway 2: Graphics and New Media http://www.nhc.ac.uk/course?cc=SUAL3GRAD This course will develop and nurture your media skills so that you can explore a specialism, such as print and publishing, interactive and web design, and filmmaking and animation, in depth. State of the art facilities will encourage you to produce media, which is to professional standards, interpreting assignment briefs in both independent and collaborative ways. Workshops and lessons taught using industry standard software, allowing you to develop skills to equip you to express your creativity in multiple ways. Also within the course there will be an opportunity for you to specialise in either Video and Sound production or Graphics and New Media in preparation for your future progression. The course will provide you with an opportunity to exhibit your work to industry professionals, as well as visit multimedia and film centres for inspiration. The course will prepare you for an undergraduate degree in creative media, graphic design or employment within the creative media industries. The qualification prepares and equips you to respond to assignments that immerse you in the creative media industries and allows you to respond using thoroughly taught skills and through your own creative expression. The lessons and workshops will give you the opportunity to explore the following areas: o Stop-motion animation o Single and multi-camera techniques o Film editing o Branding o Film/TV idents, titles and credits o Creating and editing podcasts o Building websites and blogging o App concept and design

Name: Graphic Design or Creative Media Production & Technology Qualification title: Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production & Technology (QCF) Qualification type: GCE A/AS Level or equivalent Assessment You will be continually assessed on the coursework produced for your assignments, receiving feedback throughout the projects to improve the quality of your work and stretch your ability. The final assignments you produce at the end of your first and second years will be externally moderated and graded either as referral, pass, merit or distinction.
