The course is a full time two year option and is a mixture of theory and practical sessions. As well as the main BTEC academic qualification, Football Academy students also study various sporting national governing body vocational courses. They also have the opportunity to undertake some work experience in their chosen field. Students suitable for this course are those that have a passion for sport and play football on a regular basis. Ideally they are interested in coaching and leadership. Students who select this option are often interested in pursuing career opportunities in the sport and leisure field, for example, health and fitness instructors, leisure Centres, sports coaching, physiotherapists. The course has been running for over 10 years with a proven track record of placing students onto relevant university courses or directly into the football industry.
