You will learn about a wide range of countryside, environment and horticulture related subjects. These include; - Estate maintenance such as road repairs, fencing and drainage. - Plant science - Forestry skills - Coastal management - Tree climbing and pruning - Maintaining plants outdoors (e.g. soilpreparation, planting a range of plants and trees and pruning techniques) - Land-based business/retail skill - Propagation techniques (e.g. producing plants from seed, cuttings and division)

Entry requirements

You will be required to buy protective clothing such as safety boots, work clothes and water proof outdoor clothing. Stationary such as pens, pencils, a writing pad and folder will also be essential. A full equipment list will be provided prior to the course induction. Visits to local attractions andorganisations will be arranged throughout your course and some additional entry fees may be required.
