There are 3 mandatory units that lead to a BTEC Level 3 National Certificate in Applied Science; students can then go onto study a further 3 units in Y13. These, in addition to the 3 mandatory units, will lead to a BTEC Level 3 National Subsidiary Diploma which is worth 60 credits. The units students will study include: fundamentals of science; working in the science industry; scientific practical techniques; microbiology; physiology of human body systems; medical physics techniques.
