Business and IT Level 2 Business and IT Level 2 What will I Study? This course is run as a joint course with BTEC First Certificate in Business. BTEC Level 2 Certificates prepare students for employment and provides a good grounding to go on to Level 3 courses in a related subject. This course also develops IT skills that are expected by all employers, therefore enhancing individuals’ chances for employability. BTEC Diploma for IT Users All work is submitted for marking via a portfolio. All criteria must be met to pass a unit and to be awarded unit credits. The units are highly practical and emphasise ‘doing’ rather than ‘writing about’. Evidence is gathered in a variety of ways. The purpose of this qualification is to develop and recognise learners’ IT skills and knowledge and enable them to use IT effectively in their daily lives. BTEC First Certificate in Business One unit is assessed by an external exam, set and assessed by the exam board. All other work is submitted for marking in a portfolio. Students will be awarded grades of Pass, Merit or Distinction for completed work. The course is designed as an applied progression pathway on to a higher level. Potential candidates should view this course as an opportunity to obtain a qualification which could lead to future employment or further education.
