BTEC courses are designed to provide specialist work-related qualifications in a range of sectors. BTEC National Award is a vocational dance course where the student will be continually assessed over a two year period. Students will be taught various units of dance study by a range of teachers who are current working professionals within the performing arts industry. Students will also have the opportunity to attend Colin’s Performing Arts College in Romford to work with dance and performing arts specialists in preparation for auditioning and attending full time performing arts courses post sixth form. There are three options when choosing your programme of study for Btec Level 3 Diploma. 1. Name: Dance Qualification title: BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Performing Arts (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment Each unit will be assessed by the tutor once the student has provided evidence that demonstrates that they have met all the learning outcomes for the unit. The grading will be a Pass, Merit or Distinction. At the end of the two year period when all units are complete the work will be internally verified and then an external verifier will come and grade the work. Btec Level 3 National grades convert to UCAS points, just like A-Levels.
