A level Sociology is a two year level three course which culminates in three external exams. The first exam focuses on Education and research methods, the second on Families and Households, and Beliefs in society, and the third is on Crime, deviance and theories and methods. In the first year we first study Families and Households which explores the changing patterns and trends affecting family life, different sociological views and families in the modern world. The second unit of study is education, in which we study the impact and effect of education on society, and research methods exploring how Sociologists reseach. The second year starts with beliefs in society. This unit looks at religion, beliefs and ideology in society. The final unit is crime and deviance with Sociological theories and methods.
