Digital Photography will allow you to take full creative control of your camera and editing software and deepen your understanding of visual imagery from different periods and cultures. You will be made aware of the diverse roles and functions of Photography in society today and develop the skills to interpret and understand images and produce your own personal portfolio. Photographers think, see and make connections, solve problems and make informed decisions and judgements – skills that are highly valued by employers. The A level Photography course focuses on the production of digital still imagery using Nikon DSLR’s, Apple iMac computers, Adobe editing software and Epson photo quality printing. In the first year you choose a genre/theme to study, which enables you to develop broad based skills, knowledge and understanding of Photography. In the second year you are expected to develop a more individual approach with the emphasis on quality and personal development. Results since the course started have been outstanding.
