The A2 course builds on the topics and skills learnt at AS. In A2, students will study geographical themes from Human and Physical Geography. These could include Plate Tectonics and Associated Hazards, World Cities, Weather and Climate. In A2 Geography, students are no longer required to produce lengthy pieces of coursework. Students are now examined on fieldwork techniques or have the opportunity to research a specific issue to discuss in exam conditions. Throughout A-Level Geography, students are encouraged to develop skills in data handling, presentation, research and mapping. Many of the skills and techniques used in Geography are invaluable and transferable to the workplace.
