This Level 3 programme will cover the essential skills required to for vehicles body & paint, working on vehicles of all types and ages. It will also give you the experience of working on a wide range of vehicles in different garages, dealerships and specialist body businesses Topics of study include: ◾Remove, replacing and repairing body panels ◾Identifying and rectifying body misalignment ◾MIG & MAG welding techniques ◾Resistance spot welding operations ◾The understanding of vehicle construction and materials ◾Working with plastic materials and components ◾Preparing metal and pre-painted surfaces ◾Establishing paint defects ◾Applying topcoats and completing refinishing ◾Colour matching You will also gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace and other skills associated with working in a garage. We have fantastic relationships with local and National industry leaders who provide work experience opportunities and take part in guest speaker sessions for our students.
