Keep Fit for All club

UPDATED 20160425 11:24:07

The course is suitable for all levels, including beginners. Each session starts with a warm up, then progresses to a full body workout using dance-based moves to a variety of modern music. Floor work and the use of small apparatus such as hand weights, resistance bands, clubs and scarves are also used to help you to achieve your fitness targets. The movement sequences are carefully developed and alternatives are offered to ensure you work at your own level. As the course progresses, you should be able to feel the physical and mental benefits of taking regular exercise in a friendly and encouraging environment. You could expect to find an improvement in your posture and balance, co-ordination, joint mobility, flexibility, strength, stamina and increased confidence as you master new skills. Your facilitator demonstrates and explains the purpose of each movement. As you practise, a step at a time, you will build up a movement vocabulary and an understanding of how the exercises can improve your fitness and be of benefit to you in your daily life. Informal assessment is ongoing and there is no examination. You and your facilitator will measure your achievements against the goals you set yourself at the start of the course. This is a non-accredited course. There is not an advanced course but you can progress within the class, increasing your knowledge and practical skills. We also offer a variety of styles of exercise which you may like to try to widen your experience.
