AAT Association of Accounting TechniciansDuring the first year, candidates learn the fundamentals of record-keeping and the purposes, techniques and consequences of effective financial accounting, the basics of management accounting and the use of a computerised accounting package.The year covers 5 units - 2 basic bookkeeping, 1 basic costing, 1 working effectively in an accounting environment, and 1 using SAGE software.At the end of the 1st year you will have achieved the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting.During the 2nd year, candidates further develop their understanding of financial and management accounting techniques for business, the role of professional ethics and use of a spreadsheet package to a level expected in the workplace.
