Music Technology is a part of every day life. Learn how to record and edit sound, compose, remix and evaluate recorded sound in a hands-on and practical manner. Name: A Level Music Technology Qualification title: GCE A Level in Music Technology Qualification type: Assessment Coursework - Portfolio 1 Sequenced Performance (20%) Multitrack Recording (20%) Sequenced Arrangement (20%) Students learn how to use music software to create three pieces of work. Both sequenced pieces involve the editing of music played in using a controller keyboard. The recording involves using microphones and studio techniques to create a polished reproduction of an existing recording. Exam - Listening and Analysing (40%) Students are given 1h45m to answer questions based on the exam CD. This exam covers the history of music technology from Jazz through to Dubstep. Extended writing is required in section B where students are asked to learn about two different genres (these change each year).
