This course offers: the course demands practical, creative and communication skills in almost equal measure. You will extend your ability to create drama and theatre, either in a performing or production role. YOu will also be required to write about drama and to develop your powers of analysis to become and informed critic. The course will involve taking part in drama productions, a well as studying plays and playwrights, theatre styles and the history of theatre worldwide. Lesson style: Combination of practical performance workshops and theory lessons which are designed to consolidate learning. students are expected to have a mature approach to individual and group rehearsal time. students should be independent and proactive when necessary. Very flexible and variable - study lessons and own rehearsal periods. Time allocation: 8 hours per fortnight plus external rehearsal time. Private study requirement: Wider reading, research and rehearsals. 2 hours of private study per week. Extra-curricular opportunities: Helping with drama club, A level productions, school productions, lighting, sound and costume workshops.
