AS Level Sociology

UPDATED 20150928 13:52:25

Sociology is the study of society and social relationships. Sociologists investigate the ways in which everyday life, such as family relationships, education, and crime, are shaped by society. Sociologists use sociological theory and research methods to provide explanations in response to questions about, for example, inequalities in society. Important themes that underpin the study of Sociology include identity, power, class and gender. Sociology has been taught in British universities since the beginning of the twentieth century, including the London School of Economics.
