As an Apprentice you really do get the best of both worlds; you will earn a salary and gain real experience in the workplace with your employer as well as working towards a nationally recognised NVQ and other qualifications. Apprenticeships are suitable for well-motivated people who are focussed and know which career path they want to follow. They offer high quality work-based training as an alternative to full time study. This programme is aimed at people who are employed, or are seeking employment. You will need to be 16 years of age or over. Apprenticeships are available at level 2 and level 3. * Employment, for a minimum of 30 hours per week, with training in the workplace * Assessor visits in the workplace every 3 - 4 weeks * Functional Skills Level 1 or 2 dependent on current qualifications and Apprenticeship Level applied for * Employment Rights and Responsibilities * Technical Certificate The apprenticeship programme for IT, Software, Web & Telecoms Professionals is flexible enough to accommodate almost any IT job role, including: * Technical Support * Software and Web Developer * Database Administrator * Telecoms Engineer * Network Planner The apprenticeship is made up of qualifications and learning that will provide apprentices with the skills and knowledge required to become competent in their chosen job role. The technical content of both the Level 2 and Level 3 apprenticeship includes units for: * Software Development * Web Development * Technical Support * Telecommunications * Databases In addition to generic units the apprenticeship contains 'vendor' and industry recognised content from Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, VM Ware and CompTIA.
