GCE History, a nationally recognised qualification, is an exciting and demanding course. It allows students the opportunity to investigate and analyse the past and the impact it has had on today’s world. The course allows you to develop a wide range of analytical and writing skills which are valued highly by universities and employers. The course has been developed to equip students with the understanding and skills needed to prepare for employment or, if they so choose, higher education. The course will be useful to those students wishing to take Teaching, Law, Journalism, Archaeology, English Literature, Classics or any related degrees. Those wishing to study for degrees in other subjects such as Geography, Psychology or Politics will find knowledge of History invaluable. With respect to employment, those students thinking of a career such as Journalism, Law and teaching will also find the course useful. A grounding in History is very useful for many different roles in a complete cross section of different employment opportunities.
