To Study Government and politics successfully students will need an active interest in politics in the UK, and also an interest in the USA. Course Content: AS Unit 1: People, Politics and Participation In this unit, students study the theories and ideas behind political behaviour in the United Kingdom. Areas covered are voting behaviour, electoral systems, political parties and pressure groups. Unit 2: The Government of the UK Students study the nature and structure of the government of the United Kingdom, with the Core Executive, the Legislature, the judiciary, and the constitution being the areas studied. Assessment: One written paper in each unit.
