Being able to speak of German increases your job opportunities with German and foreign companies in your own country and abroad, whilst proficiency in German also helps you to function productively for an employer with global business connections. German is the second most commonly-used scientific language and Germany is the third largest contributor to research and development, offering research fellowships to scientists from abroad. There are a generous number of scholarships and other support to study in Germany with working holiday visas available for young foreigners from a range of countries whilst special visas are offered to skilled workers and professionals. A wide range of exchange programs exists for both school and university students between Germany and many countries in the world. You will benefit from the following resources and facilities: dedicated MFL Sixth Form Study Area equipped with satellite TV and other audio-visual facilities. up-to-date course book/self-study materials. small groups of about 6-12 students. specialist, experienced teaching staff. A wide variety of teaching and learning styles are used to develop students into confident language learners. Students will work independently, in pairs or small groups and collaboratively using a variety of resources, including topical authentic materials from countries where the target language is spoken. Students have opportunities to research in detail topics of their choice in the target language. Extensive use is made of self-study materials using all of the four language skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening). The nature of the small groups allows for extensive one-to-one coaching and discussion of work completed
