English Language has proved a popular and enjoyable A level for many years. Our students have achieved great success with this subject, going on to study English, Media or Journalism at Degree Level. If you have chosen to study the A Level , the units studied are: ‘Language, the Individual and Society’ and ‘Language Diversity and Change’ which are examined at the end of the second year, together with a non-examination assessment investigating ‘Language in Action’. Your course will look something like this: Year 1 Unit 1: Language and the Individual Examination = 50% Unit 2: Language Varieties Examination = 50% Year 2 Unit 1: Language, the Individual and Society Examination = 40% Unit 2: Language Diversity and Change Examination = 40% Unit 3: Language in Action Non-Examination = 20%
