Learners will improve communication and listening abilities, develop empathy, grow their self awareness and through that improve awareness of and understanding of others' needs, especially in times of difficulty and challenge. This course will enhance a person's ability to support others. The skills covered, discussed, practised and written about in the journal are communicating effectively through use of: Body Language; Silences; Boundaries; Questions; Paraphrasing. You will also learn how to: Welcome someone to a support session; Effectively end the support session at the agreed time.
