In this course you will learn about the theory of beauty, anatomy and physiology. You will also have 'hands on' practical experience in manicure, pedicure, eyelash and eyebrow treatments, make-up, facials and waxing.You will work in reception and learn how to maintain confidential client records, stock control, handling money, booking appointments and answering the phone.You may have the opportunity to participate in a work placement or you may secure part-time employment at a salon.

You will have to demonstrate that you have mastered the practical skills required for the unit by working on clients in the Aspire College Beauty salons. You will also have to demonstrate you have acquired the knowledge and understanding for the unit by passing your online exam. More information on the salons can be found here.A minimum of 3-hours a week home study is required. Most weeks you will have to sit an online exam. You will need to revise for these exams as the pass mark is 70%.The final qualification is an NVQ level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy.
