The Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering Manufacture is a Level 3 Apprenticeship that provides the skills, knowledge and competence requirements to work at craft or technician level, in order to carry out a variety of engineering and manufacturing processes. The following pathway options are offered: - mechanical manufacturing engineering - engineering maintenance - fabrication and welding - engineering technical support - engineering tool-making Each pathway has qualifications that include a combination of core units and unit options to select from as relevant to the pathway selected. You will learn through a combination of on- and off-the-job training. You will attend college one day per week during term time and spend the rest of your time earning and learning in the workplace. You will be assessed on a continuous basis through a combination of knowledge and practical assessment activities, including assessment of activities in the workplace. This Apprenticeship has a minimum duration of 24 months unless you are aged over 19 years and have relevant prior learning. Your progress will be continuously monitored and supported by an Apprenticeship Achievement Officer.Advanced apprentices, with support and opportunities in the workplace, can progress onto the Higher Apprenticeship in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering or onto other higher level study. With additional training, advanced level apprentices may also be able to progress in their careers to roles such as Supervisor or Team Leader. Advanced level apprentices may also progress towards Engineering Technician (EngTech) registration with the Engineering Council. This apprenticeship is approved by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) as delivering the Engineering Council UK-SPEC for EngTech registration.
