The syllabus teaches the accounting process from trial balance to extended trial balance covering year-end adjustments to balance sheet. It covers revenue versus capital expenditure, double-entry bookkeeping for depreciation of fixed assets, bad and doubtful debts, accruals and prepayments and control accounts, extended trial balance, and journal correction of errors and omissions. This is a City and Guilds accredited qualification. There is a 2 hour exam at the end of the course, which is externally assessed. If successful, students will gain a City and Guilds 8991 Level 2 Certificate Bookkeeping and AccountingThe course involves practical work supported by tutor led theory sessions and guidance for skills development.Students could progress to: Level 3 qualification Bookkeeping and Accounting AAT Level 2/3 (NVQ Accounting) Practice Bookkeeper
