Our Creative Arts and Media courses are predominantly based at our Kettering campus. Our extensive and impressive facilities include three Apple Mac suites, a 165-seat theatre, a dance studio, a photography studio and darkroom, dedicated art studios, textile and fashion design studios, a video editing suite, a radio production studio and a printmaking studio. We have excellent links with local and national organisations, such as the NHS Trust and Kettering Borough Council, who commission our students to undertake 'live' project work. In line with the creative nature of this school, students take part in a number of shows, performances and exhibitions every year; notably the annual Fashion Show in April and the end of year Creative Arts Show in June in which all students exhibit their work or perform. Prospective applicants are encouraged to attend these shows, as they are an excellent opportunity to view the outstanding work produced and to speak with our current students. The aim of the course is to develop your creative and intellectual potential and to provide you with the relevant knowledge and skills required for a career in the fashion and textile industry. You will be involved in projects that combine Fashion Drawing and Illustration, CAD, Creative Pattern Cutting and Garment Production, Embellishment and Embroidery, and Surface Pattern Design. The course will also cover Marketing, Promotion, Styling and Professional Practice. During the course, you will be encouraged to produce individual ideas whilst developing an understanding of the needs of the fashion and textile industry. You will also have the opportunity to engage with tutors from a variety of specialisms and backgrounds to further develop your skills and ensure that you have a successful career.
