The School provides a range of Higher National Certificates (HNC), Higher National Diplomas (HND) and Foundation Degrees (FdSc) in Sports-related subjects. These courses are designed to offer a strong emphasis on practical skills development alongside the development of theoretical understanding of sport with the national recognition of the qualification by employers allowing direct progression to employment upon completion. Students are also able to progress into the third year of a degree or honours degree programme. The School is regionally commended and works with a number of football clubs. Our students are sought by employers for their ability to make a positive impact by applying the knowledge and skills they have gained through their courses and are working with organisations such as Corby Borough Council Sports & Leisure departments and Training Ground, helping to develop sporting opportunities for all. This course is designed to be a direct progression from vocational study courses within this area, and is a 2 year full-time mode of study. This Foundation Degree builds upon professional practice, by integrating an academic dimension and industry-related qualifications. Areas of study include: - Sports Coaching - Sports Development - Psychology - Physiology - Work Placement - Research Methods.
