This course is for those who intend to enter a career in mechanical/manufacturing engineering. You will be using lathes, milling machines and automated programmable controllers. You will study a wide range of subjects as detailed below. The course consists of 6 core units: Business Systems for Technicians * Communications for Technicians * Engineering Project * Mathematics for Technicians * Electrical and Electronic Principles * Mechanical Principles and Applications. Plus 6 specialist units from the following: Engineering Design * Commercial Aspects of Organisations Employing Engineers * Further Mechanical Principles and Applications * Engineering Drawing for Technicians * Computer Aided Drafting * Selection and Applications of Programmable Logic Controllers * Computer Numerical Control of Machine Tools * Further Mathematics for Engineers * Electronic Circuit Manufacture.
