Cake Decorating- Sugarpaste Flowers for Autumn Cakes

Students with some experience of handling flowerpaste will love this two week Saturday workshop! The workshop is also open to beginners interested in creating their own sugar flowers, while learning some of the many skills of how to use sugar to craft and create a sugar flower display for cake decorating. Spend two Saturdays in a friendly group of like minded people and learn how to create SUGAR FLOWERS under the guidance of an experienced and patient tutor. Flowers created will depend on the season, and you will discover how to work with flowerpaste to create realistic flowers that an be used on celebration cakes, cupcakes or a vase cake. Sugarcraft flower workshops are open to everyone with an interest in learning about working with sugar to model or make flowers. Beginners are welcome and encouraged to work at a pace what is comfortable to them. If you are a beginner please let the tutor know at the beginning of the day, or email her in advance to let her know. Students will leave the workshop with:- Flowers and foliage created on the day- Knowledge of how to wire flowers- Knowledge of health and safety implications of using wires with food- A bouquet of flowers- Flowers on a dummy cake without wires This is not about making a perfect project! By the end of each day, under tutor guidance, students will complete the day's tasks and have an understanding of using sugar along with its texture, form, colour and design. There will be tutor demonstrations, class discussions and individual hands on practice.

Entry requirements

As a beginner or improver it is not essential to bring any tools or equipment on the day, but an extra charge of 5 per student will be payable direct to the tutor for each student to cover the costs of materials used which the tutor will supply to anyone who needs it. If you are not a beginner and would still like to brush up your modelling skills, please feel free to bring your own modelling pastes and equipment, and this charge will not then apply.If you do not have any tools at home, please do not let this prevent you from attending the workshop, as the tutor will have tools, equipment and materials available to use on the day.A small stock of sugarcraft equipment will be available to buy on the day, with a price list, and buying is optional. Any purchases are payable directly to the tutor on the day. A variety of sugarcraft stock will be supplied, but many students choose to bring equipment they already have in their kitchen.
