The BTEC Certificate and Subsidiary in Business L3 are both advanced level vocational Business courses which involve theoretical and practical study of business related topics. The course content is equally suited to both male and female students due to its diverse programme of study. The BTEC Subsidiary in Business Level 3 is a 2-year programme comprising six units. It is designed to give students a thorough knowledge of the business world together with vital business skills demanded by all major employers. The course includes 4 core units and 2 specialist units taught over a two year period.Successful completion of the first year of the course will allow students to receive the BTEC National Certificate in Business Level 3. Students taking the Subsidiary will progress onto the second year to work towards the full BTEC Subsidiary in Business Level 3. Progression onto the second year will be at the discretion of the head of subject considering performance and level of attendance during the first year of the course. The course complies with the new Qualification Credit Framework.Year 1CORE UNITSUnit 1 The Business EnvironmentUnit 2 Business ResourcesUnit 3 Introduction to MarketingThe Certificate will consist of these three units, studied in one year only.Year 2For the Subsidiary the course team will select a further three units designed to give students a balanced, relevant structure to the course.
